On August 21st, Rush is hitting the big screen with “Cinema Strangiato 2019,” featuring live performances and behind-the-scenes footage from their “R40” tour. In celebration, Rush just shared this clip from “R40,” with Geddy Lee handling the heavy load of bass, vocals, and keys.

Legendary prog-rock band Yes turned 50 last year, and they celebrated the occasion with a massive tour. Now they’ve released a new double live album called “Yes 50 Live” that features 13 performances from the trek.

Darkglass Electronics has introduced the Microtube X Ultra, which they say “greatly expands” on the versatility of their Microtubes X7 pedal. It has all the same controls as its predecessor but adds four key components.

Jackson has expanded its JS Series basses with two new models: the JS Series Spectra Bass JS3Q and JS Series Spectra Bass JS3QV. The basses are four- and five-strings, respectively, and feature a quilted maple top and a new body shape.

I’ve always been amazed at the music of Avishai Cohen. So it was a real treat to see this live Paste Studio NYC performance. Avishai’s trio performs four songs in this set, and his solos are incredible.

Underground Brooklyn music legends The Giraffes have returned with a new album called “Flower of the Cosmos.” The album serves as a turning point for the band. Last year, bassist Josh Taggart left the group and was replaced by Hannah Moorhead.

Spiral Electric FX unveiled the new White Spiral Boost at Summer NAMM this year. The pedal, designed by former DOD/Digitech creative Tom Cram, is a light JFET boost “with a few tricks up its sleeve.”

Today is the one-year anniversary of Mac Miller’s popular Tiny Desk Concert. It was a great episode, with one of Miller’s frequent collaborators, Thundercat. Last week, Ty Dolla $ign recorded this tribute to Miller with Thundercat, Cory Henry, and others.

Guitarist Robben Ford and saxophonist Bill Evans teamed up to record a new album, “The Sun Room.” The duo, which has often worked together over the years, recruited drummer Keith Carlock and bassist James Genus to round out the record.
