Two famous Seattle companies have teamed up for something special. Verellen Amplifiers and record label Sup Pop have announced the Sub Fuzz Pop Drive, an effects pedal housing both an overdrive and a fuzz circuit that can be used separately or together.

Gwar is hitting the road again this fall for the “Use Your Collusion” tour. The tour will be the first without bassist Jamison Land portraying Beefcake the Mighty, but fans of the band will have a familiar overlord laying down the low end.

Charnett Moffett has returned with “Bright New Day.” The exploratory release pushes the bassist in a new direction on his own instrument, as well. Moffett, who is best known for his virtuosic double bass playing, opted to record the whole album on his fretless electric.

Fender has added a new line of instruments called the Vintera series. The lineup includes vintage-style guitars and basses made in Ensenada, Baja California in Mexico that draw their features from the company’s first three decades.
