Kiesel Announces Dustin Davidson DD4 Signature Headless Bass
Kiesel Guitars has unveiled the new Dustin Davidson Signature DD4 headless bass. Created with the August Burns Red bassist, the new model is based on the company’s Thanos Series TB4 with special custom shop appointments including a walnut body, a walnut neck, a poplar burl top, and a royal ebony fingerboard.
“The DD4 has features that are exclusive to this instrument, including a satin black pickguard, active/passive push/pull tone control, and Dustin’s signature inlays,” Kiesel writes. “There are limited options you can select, including finishes, fingerboards, inlays, and multi-laminate neck woods. All these options have been selected by Dustin as the features he wants to offer on his signature instrument.”
Davidson’s signature bass is fitted with a pair of the company’s JVA single-coil pickups matched to an 18-volt active/passive preamp. The bassist’s logo is inlaid at the 12th fret.

Twang twang twang, -that Dustin Davidson bass doesn’t sound at all like a bass to me… -More like an out-of-tune hillbilly guitar… And why in the world would I want someone else’s ugly logo (brand?) smeared all over the fretboard and messing up the appearance of any bass I owned?
