Carla Bley has just released a new trio album on ECM called “Life Goes On.” The pianist once again worked with her longtime musical partners of saxophonist Andy Shepperd and bassist Steve Swallow, who is also her spouse.

The vintage Seamoon Funk Machine has been reborn through a new company called Seamoon FX founded by session ace Neil Jason. The new pedal was the passion project for Jason, who used the original on many records.

Joe Satriani is releasing his 18th studio album, “Shapeshifting,” in April, with Chris Chaney on bass. He’s just released a video for the tune “Nineteen Eighty” as a preview of what’s to come.
