Louis Johnson: Bass Solo with Billy Preston

I have a special treat today! Louis Johnson is one of my favorite bassists, but criminally underrated. With an incredible career under his belt, he is definitely one of the greats. While he is known for his thumping and plucking, his fingerwork often gets overlooked.

Here he is with the Fifth Beatle, Billy Preston. Can you believe he was only 17? Armed with a P Bass, Louis is in full force.

Enjoy!!

LOL! He was grooving BEFORE he started ‘thumping!’ Love it! Missed him greatly! Rest In Peace, Louis A. Johnson.????

I’m not entirely sure. It does look that way from the video. It is definitely a possibility.
