Alusonic Aluminum Instruments Unveils PentaFleX 5 String Bass Special Edition
Italy’s Alusonic Aluminum Instruments has introduced a new bass model called the PentaFleX 5-string bass special edition. Made in collaboration with Alberto Rigoni, the bass is crafted with a chambered White Tulip body that’s topped with an aluminum alloy that they say provides “incredible attack and sustain.”
The neck is also wood, made from Flamed Balkan Maple, and reinforced with graphite rods. All remaining hardware is aluminum aside from the flexible PentaFleX pickup that offers five coil modes: P-Reverse, P51, Classic Precision, single coil, and humbucker.
“Considering that it features just one pickup, that’ definitely the most versatile bass I’ve ever tried,” Rigoni writes. “Moreover, the tone is punchy and really defined. Moreover, due to the materials used, it is super lightweight, just 3.5kg and it’s a 5 string! This bass is truly innovative!”
