Keep It Groovy: Learn To Play The Bass Line To “Ball Of Confusion” By The Temptations

If there’s one thing we know about Motown, it’s that the grooves are deep and bass legends like James Jamerson and Bob Babbitt have given us some incredible lines to learn from. At first, many arrows pointed to Jamerson as the bass line for this recording, but after a bit more digging, it seems like Babbitt may be the bassist behind this tune! Both players have the uncanny ability to play intricate, improvised bass lines or to craft a killer part and play it ’til the cows come home.

Enjoy getting this groove under your fingers!

I am James Jamerson’s biggest fan, but I think you’ll find that Bob Babbit was responsible for the Bass line on Ball of Confusion.
