Today is Tony Levin’s birthday, and we’ve spent the day listening to the wealth of music he’s been a part of over the years. Here he is rocking it out with Liquid Tension Experiment on “Hypersonic”. The tune is from “LTE3”, which was released in April 2021.

IK Multimedia has updated its bass offerings for 2022 with the MODO Bass 2. The physical modeling virtual bass instrument builds on the original with new instruments, patterns, and features.

EBS is on hand at NAMM 2022 to introduce a new bass amp called the Reidmar 752. The lightweight head delivers 750 watts at 2 ohms by way of a class-D amplifier. EBS says the amp offers solid tone with punch and clarity.

No Treble reader Vladimir Samardzic sent us this video of the title track from his new album. “Catching the Wind” starts out with Vladimir’s bass before the rest of the band joins in. I am digging their sound big time!

Steve Davis has released “Bluesthetic”, which features a dizzyingly great band. The trombonist is joined by guitarist Peter Bernstein, vibraphonist Steve Nelson, pianist Geoffrey Keezer, drummer Willie Jones III, and bassist Christian McBride.

TC Electronic has unveiled a new pedal in their Plethora series with the Plethora X3. The pedal carries all the same features of the X5 – including a flexible collection of effects – but pares it down to three slots instead of five.

Tedeschi Trucks Band is releasing an ambitious project, and we get to now see the first part. “I Am The Moon” will include four albums and four films. Here’s “Episode I. Crescent”, anchored by Brandon Boone.

Michael Schenker Group has returned with a new full-length album entitled “Universal”. The MSG is already anchored by the able hands of Barend Courbois, but “Universal” also features bassists Bob Daisley and Barry Sparks.

Tim Fletcher and Troy Hughes’ epic project “Kansas: Leftoverture – The Complete Basslines” has, at last, reached its final chapter, featuring Dave Hope’s work on the eight minutes and twenty-five seconds album closer “Magnum Opus”.

Cory Wong released another new video recently featuring a tune from his upcoming album, “Power Station”. Billy Strings makes a guest appearance on “Road Trip”, which is anchored by the always excellent Sonny T.

The International Society of Bassists is bringing back their Virtual Bass Festival for 2022. The two-day event will be held June 10th and 11th, featuring live presentations, an exhibit hall, “ISB After Hours” nightly hangs, and more.
