Nightwish Makes Jukka Koskinen An Official Member

Early last year, longtime Nightwish bassist Marko Hietala made the decision to leave the band. The group soon tapped Jukka Koskinen to fill his role, naming him as their session player. Now they’ve made his place in their ranks official.

“We’re delighted to announce our dear friend Jukka Koskinen is officially inaugurated as a member of the band. We’ve been incredibly thankful to have him on our side while touring, and it only feels natural to have him join the band officially.”

Koskinen joined in time for 2021’s Human. :||: Nature. World Tour. Right now, the band says they are recharging their batteries for October when they will tour South America. They’ll quickly follow that up with a European trek that will take them into 2023.
