Dingwall Guitars have unveiled a new model to its signature line with the Kyle Konkiel Signature Combustion. The Bad Wolves bassist’s new five-string sports a killer purple and green color-shift finish that changes color depending on the lighting and angle at which it is viewed.

“I got the idea from a Lamborghini I saw cruising around LA,” says Konkiel. “It had the same color-shift finish.”

It’s built with an alder body, maple neck, and wenge fingerboard, complete with Ralph Novak’s multi-scale, fanned-fret system. The strings scale ranges from 34 inches for the G string to 37 inches for the B string. The bass is also built for versatility with three Dingwall FD3-N pickups matched to their Quatd-Tone switching system and a Nordstrand three-band EQ.

“This bass manages to provide not just one, but a whole collection of great bass tones that have loads of character,” Konkiel continues. “It’s been designed with the heavier stuff in mind, but Sheldon [Dingwall]’s realized the design so well that it’s turned out to be a really impressive all-rounder too.”

A special feature of this bass is the simple on/off switch for the middle pickup, making it the first Combustion bass to have it.

The Dingwall Guitars Kyle Konkiel Signature Combustion bass is limited to 25 units. It carries a street price of $2,600.
