1. Bass of the Week: Pensa Custom Guitars P-Series Bass
This week we’re checking out the Pensa Custom Guitars P-Series bass, which takes its cues from the classic Precision design while making it their own. The semi-hollow bass can be highly customized, but even the standard features are outstanding.
2. The Band Geeks: Wasted Years
The Band Geeks just dropped their latest video, and this time they’re upping the irons. Joined by Matt Beck on guitar, the Geeks take on Iron Maiden’s “Wasted Years,” with Richie Castellano on bass and backing vocals.
3. Keep It Groovy: How To Play An Easy Slow Blues In C
In this bass lesson, Ryan Madora keeps it groovy with a nice slow blues in the key of C. She focuses on an incredibly common bass pattern for a slow blues that can also be sped up and adapted to a blues shuffle.
4. Tapping Technique and Composition: Percussive Bass Tapping on “Riches to the Conjuror”
For his newest “Tapping Technique and Composition” lesson, John Ferrara says, “Let’s turn the bass into a drum, shall we?” The technique used in this lesson is his new favorite to play with in a solo bass setting.
5. Percy Jones and PAKT Announce Spring Tour
In 2021, fretless bass master Percy Jones unveiled his latest project called PAKT, which also features Alex Skolnick, Kenny Grohowski, and Tim Motzer. The group had a busy year and is now back with a new set of tour dates.

7. Mastodon and Gojira Announce “Mega-Monsters Tour”
Two behemoth bands are teaming up for an extra heavy tour this year. Mastodon and Gojira will hit the road for “The Mega-Monsters Tour,” which means the nation will rumble each night to the bass lines of Troy Sanders and Jean-Michel Labadie.
8. The Headhunters Announce 50th Anniversary Tour Dates
The Headhunters are celebrating their 50th anniversary with a set of tour dates. Originally formed in 1973 by Herbie Hancock, the group’s current lineup includes Bill Summers, Mike Clark, Donald Harrison, Kyle Roussel, and bassist Chris Severin.

10. The Motet Blend Funk, Soul, and Dance on “All Day”
