Ashdown Engineering Unveils Studio MiniRig at NAMM
Ashdown Engineering has expanded its Studio Range with the Studio MiniRig, a mini-stack consisting of a 250-watt solid-state amp head and a 2×10” cabinet.
“Styled to match the range with a nod to the amps of old, after watching the Beatles ‘Help’ film, we fell in love with the old PA columns all over again, which inspired us with this classic looking mini rig,” Ashdown writes. “Classic in looks but steeped in modern and much-needed features.”
The Studio MiniRig’s control set includes Pre-Gain and Drive controls with a five-band EQ followed by a Volume knob. A Shape switch offers more general shaping at a touch. The amp has plenty of connectivity with a headphone output, a fully balanced (and front-mounted) DI, a Line In, an FX loop, and a footswitch jack.
The Ashdown Studio MiniRig is shipping now for $799.

Martin is late to the mini-bass dance, but made a grand entrance. With all solid top & sides, it’s possible it will have significant acoustic volume, but physics won’t let it be very loud.
