Geddy Lee Announces New Docuseries, “Are Bass Players Human, Too?”

Geddy Lee Asks: Are Bass Players Human Too?

Geddy Lee has a busy few months coming up. His new memoir, My Effin’ Life, is releasing on November 14th, and he’ll be on the road in support of it for a month. Now the bass icon has unveiled a new docuseries called Geddy Lee Asks: Are Bass Players Human Too?

The four-part series will premiere December 5th on Paramount Plus and will see Lee visiting four fellow low-enders: Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic, Hole’s Melissa Auf Der Maur, Metallica’s Robert Trujillo, and Les Claypool of Primus.

“I’m trying to show the world that a bass player can do many things,” Lee says.

A trailer for the series shows him flying and cooking with Novoselic, surfing with Trujillo, hiking with Auf Der Maur, and fishing with Claypool. Of course, they make music together, as well. On interesting snippet shows Trujillo playing “Portrait of Tracy” on Jaco’s Bass of Doom for Lee.
