Earthquaker Devices Releases the Zoar Pedal
Earthquaker Devices has unveiled the Zoar, a new distortion pedal that they say creates a “customizable hi-fi and modern-sounding distortion, but with the ghosts of old-school circuitry.” Apt for use with bass and guitar, the six-knob stompbox has a three-band EQ plus Level, Weight, and Gain controls.
“The Gain control on Zoar goes from the edge of break up all the way over the cliff into the crunchy, grinding abyss,” EQD writes. “The character of the distortion is heavily dependent on the setting of the Weight control as well as the pickup type and further fine-tuned by the EQ section.”
Hear some fo the Zoar’s roar in the Earthquaker demo. (Bass begins at 3:04).
The Earthquaker Devices Zoar is available now for $129.
