Geddy Lee’s “Lost Demos” Now Streaming

Geddy Lee: The Lost DemosIt’s a been a big month for Geddy Lee. The Rush bassist launched his new memoir, My Effin’ Life, on November 14th. His new docu-series Geddy Lee Asks: Are Bass Players Human, too? premiered on Paramount+ on December 5th. And now he’s released two new solo songs.

The Lost Demos is comprised of two songs that were written during the sessions for his 2000 solo debut, My Favorite Headache, but were shelved and ultimately forgotten until recently. Lee found them again while looking through material for his memoir, and the songs are included in the audiobook version of it.

“I’m excited to see these two ‘lost demos’ released,” Lee says. “I loved the songs when they were written and in some ways they feel as fresh and perhaps more relevant all these years later.”

The two songs include “Gone”, which is a remembrance of Neil Peart’s daughter Selena Taylor, who died in a car crash in 1997. Lee explains the emotions were still too raw at the time to release it, though it is a beautiful song. “I Am… You Are” is closer to what fans may expect from the bass hero, he adds.

The Lost Demos is streaming on iTunes, Amazon MP3, and wherever you listen to music.
