Grez Guitars Unveils the Mendocino Bass VI
Grez Guitars has expanded their Mendocino series instruments with a Bass VI model. The new semi-hollow axe is built using salvaged old grown redwood top for a “classic aesthetic and voice while delivering modern high-performance hardware and playability.”
“There are so many important songs of the past that used a Bass VI,” explains luthier Barry Grzebik. “I wanted to make something that would allow me to be part of that tradition in the future.”
The Mendocino Bass VI has a 30-inch scale and weighs in at just 5.75 pounds. Central to its tone is the new Grez Multi-Tone tone pot. The knob has a detente where it provides a flat response. Rolling the knob forward provides a low cut and rolling it back provides a high cut. Grez says the low-cut function is an important factor in the versatility of Bass VI style instruments.
