No Loops, No Band – Just Daniele Camarda and a Six-String Bass on a Rooftop

Daniele Camarda has an incredible musical sensibility. His style is unique, blending elements of modern bass technique as well as traditional plucked instruments. That’s all on display on his latest solo release, entitled Unveil.

His fourth solo work finds Camarda continuing on his musical path of beautiful improvisation on his six-string Manne Guitars Multi Bass tuned EADGCF.

“The approach has always been on instant composition allowing music to unfold in the moment with no preconceived agenda which entails the effort of removing myself from being in the way, and allow the music to play me,” he tells us. “From an instrumental perspective my interest is to channel on the bass all the traditions of plucked string instruments (i.e. the classical guitar, lute, oud, sitar, veena, shamisen, harp and of course jazz, blues and rock guitar). This blends with the use of live digital processing, real-time sampling and granular synthesis.”
