Bass of the Week: A 3-String Bass Carved from a Single Slab – with a Snarling Headstock

Poland’s DaShtick Guitars began as a minimalist instrument company focusing on diddley bows. However, they quickly expanded into various models by letting their imagination lead the way.
This week, we’re checking out the Bad Dog Bass, a 3-string axe carved from a single piece of Polish ash and finished with natural dyes and Danish oil. Equal parts whimsy and practicality, the bass is small and comfortable to play and has a big sound.
“The Bad Dog Bass is fitted with an excellent handmade humbucker from Original Flatpups, Vienna, Austria. And although big dogs don’t need to bark, this pickup will make your blood freeze when you come too close…,” the company shares. “It is a short-scale bass guitar (28.5 inches) which makes it a lot easier to play for a kid or a person with relatively smaller hands. Definitely, a missing trophy to your collection.”
As a final touch, the headstock is carved into a snarling dog’s head.

Love it.
They make baseball bats from Ash. Great choice for a bass.
The short scale minamalist design should be a lot of fun to play.
The dye and oil finish rocks.
