Spector’s Limited Euro CST Basses: Spalted Maple Tops, Darkglass Tone, Custom Shop Detail

Spector Euro CST Spalted Maple 4-String Bass

Spector has unveiled a new limited-edition series of basses with the Euro CST Spalted Maple line. The basses feature highly figured spalted maple tops on a European ash body. As such, it puts features typically found in their custom shop into the more accessible Czech-made instruments.

“In late 2024, Spector discovered a selection of Spalted Maple tops at our Czech production facility. Inspired by the beautiful figuring and grain patterns, we decided to create a limited run of Euro models informed by instruments previously built in our Woodstock, NY Custom Shop,” shared John Stippell, Director of Product Planning for Korg USA.

The basses are also crafted with a three-piece maple neck and ebony fingerboard fitted with Spector’s signature Mother of Pearl crown inlays. For electronics, they opted for the Spector Legacy Preamp, which was developed with Darkglass Electronics. The four-string bass has a P/J pickup configuration, with the five-string having a J/J setup.

The Spector Euro CST Spalted Maple series is available now at $3,499.99 for the four-string and $3,599.99 for the five-string.

Yet again another article with massive amounts of information about these products yet leave out if they are available in a left-handed model. It seems like finding out if it can be made left handed is one small step compared to gathering the amount of information on everything else.
