How Michael League’s Nik Huber Signature Bass Locks In with the Metropole Orkest on Snarky Puppy’s New Performance
Snarky Puppy has been rolling out new videos from their performance with the Metropole Orkest, and this new drop of “It Stays With You” is another really nice one. The mix of strings, horns, and percussion from the orchestra gives everything this big, smooth lift, and Michael League keeps it all glued together.
He is playing his Nik Huber signature bass, and after getting a chance to try this bass myself at NAMM earlier this year, I totally get why it shows up in so many of his videos. It feels great in the hands and it sounds even better in this setting. Michael is also stepping on a sub octave pedal for most of this tune, and it adds this extra layer of weight that lets the orchestra swell without ever losing the bottom.
Another solid clip from this session. They have been dropping these one by one, and if more are on the way, I am here for all of it.
