Chimera Mechanical Blue Screen Brings Dimension Chorus and Phase Effects to Bass

Nashville’s Chimera Mechanical has introduced the Blue Screen, a pedal they call a “versatile pitch and phase modulation machine.” It centers around Rate and Depth controls with a switch to toggle between Classic and Dimension modes.

“Set the mode switch to Classic to get a normal vibrato // chorus effect,” Chimera writes on its website. “The Dimension mode adds in another identical modulation circuit that is inverted, creating out of phase effects like flanger or phaser, or even the motionless chorus sounds from the Dimension C.”

It also has a Dry switch to blend in clean signal with the modulated signal, making it a good fit to retain the low end of a bass. Hear it on bass in this demo from Chimera Mechanical’s Jake Kroll:
