Here’s Charles Mingus, playing one of his greatest tunes, “Goodbye Pork Pie Hat”. This performance took place live at Montreux 1975, with Don Pullen on piano, George Adams on tenor sax, Gerry Mulligan on baritone sax, Benny Bailey on trumpet, and Danny Richmond on drums.

Undiscovered Mingus
A previously unknown 1964 recording of the Charles Mingus Sextet with Eric Dolphy was recently discovered by Mingus’ widow and released by Blue Note. This is a double CD live recording, featuring a near identical lineup to the group who recorded “Great Concert of Charles Mingus” about a month later.
