The bass world lost a legend last week with the passing of Tower of Power bassist Francis “Rocco” Prestia. Now, a huge gathering of the bass community will be getting together to remember him.

This week on their recurring Zoom bass webinar series, the trio of Steve Bailey, Victor Wooten, and John Patitucci will be exploring the topic of extended-range basses. The webinar will include an impressive line-up of several bassists and luthiers.

They’re at it again! Steve Bailey and Victor Wooten will be joined by Oteil Burbridge and John Patitucci for a Zoom webinar called “Utility Shed.” The discussion, which is a free event, will take place Thursday, June 11th at 1pm Eastern.

Dead & Company have announced details for their summer 2020 tour. The band includes three Grateful Dead members (Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann) as well as guitarist John Mayer, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, and bassist Oteil Burbridge.

Nearly six years after the band called it quits, the surviving members of the final Allman Brothers Band lineup will be reuniting for a special 50th-anniversary tribute show. The band, which will now be called The Brothers, will include Oteil Burbridge.

While the cold is settling in this winter, Dead & Company is already planning for the summer.
