Two famous Seattle companies have teamed up for something special. Verellen Amplifiers and record label Sup Pop have announced the Sub Fuzz Pop Drive, an effects pedal housing both an overdrive and a fuzz circuit that can be used separately or together.

The start of a new month means that we get to celebrate the top gear stories from the previous one. Here are your top 10 favorite bass gear stories we shared in June 2019.

This week we’re checking out a cool four-string bass by CP Thornton Guitars. Luthier Chuck Thornton built this bass, numbered B-034, with a swamp ash core with killer slabs of 5A Eastern Maple for the top and back.

Back in April, we shared the news about Gallien-Krueger’s new line of amps called the Legacy Series. Now the amps, which coincide with fifty years of bass amp designs by founder Bob Gallien, are available and shipping.

Fender has added a new line of instruments called the Vintera series. The lineup includes vintage-style guitars and basses made in Ensenada, Baja California in Mexico that draw their features from the company’s first three decades.

SUNN O))) and EarthQuaker Devices have teamed up to release an effects box called the Life Pedal. The pedal, which is limited edition and hand numbered, includes an octave fuzz and distortion with boost.

Boss has expanded their WL series of wireless systems with the WL-60, which they say makes it “easier than ever for musicians to go wireless.” It features a compact receiver that’s been tailored for pedalboards and has a large visual display.

PRS has announced a new line of affordable instrument, patch, and speaker cables with the PRS Guitars Classic Series Cable lineup. The new series, which is offered alongside their British-built Signature Cable line, features tuned capacitance designed for signal clarity.

BASS OF THE WEEK: The Duke Ellington School of Arts in Washington, D.C. has produced numerous famous alumni. The high school got a major renovation in 2016 and now, with the help of another alumnus, a piece of the school will always be in the hands of a bassist.

It’s been a decade since Caparison Guitars introduced a new bass model, but now they’ve fixed that with the Dellinger Bass. The company says the Dellinger is “instantly familiar but at the same time much improved.”

Genzler Amplification has expanded their lineup of amps with the “High-Boy” Magellan 350 Combo, which features their existing MG-350 Magellan head with a brand new cabinet. The MG-12T-V is a vertically designed 1×12? with a compression tweeter cabinet.

Chase Bliss Audio has introduced the MOOD, which is a two-channel granular micro-looper and delay pedal. The new stompbox is also a collaboration with three options for how the channels are internally routed.
