Ernie Ball unveiled a new set of their Slinky Bass Strings back in 2020, and now they’re available. The Hyper Slinky Bass strings offer a new gauge set of .040, .060, .080, and .100.

This week we’re checking out a brand new ancient bass by Tüi Instruments. Gert Simso shared his latest creation with us, which he calls the Mammothslayer. The spear-shaped body is made from bog oak while the lower bout features a deer horn for a leg rest.

Fender’s Player Plus Series kicked off last year, and the company has just unveiled a new four-string in the line that shakes things up. The Player Plus Active Meteora Bass features a radical offset body shape fitted with two humbucking pickups.

Fender has expanded on the Squier Contemporary Series with two guitars as well as four new bass models. Both the P and J Basses have four and five-string versions.
