It’s always nice to see another video from Aaron Gibson, and this is another he deems a “first draft.” This is “Peek at the Last Page,” which already sounds awesome to us.

I love going back to the Pat Metheny Group Tribute Band First Circle and their videos. Here’s one I recently enjoyed, with the band performing “Phase Dance” from PMG’s debut album, “Pat Metheny Group.”

Our good friend Lorenzo Feliciati sent us this video, which is the first single from his upcoming album, Second Rumble. “Morning Wow” showcases Lorenzo’s remarkable bass playing and composition skills.

Leland Sklar closed out 2023 with another one of his terrific videos, sharing stories, music, and some hilarious comments along the way. In this clip, he plays along to James Taylor’s “There We Are.”

We’re kicking off 2024 in one of our favorite ways: sharing a video from a reader. Nenad Vasilic sent us this performance of his wonderful tune, “San Francisco Dance,” from his album, “Bass & Strings.”

Julia Hofer is closing out 2023 with a list of her five favorite bass lines of 2023.

Years ago, we shared videos by Samuel Haynes. He’s making his return and just shared this video for “Amber.”

I’m really digging the Sugarshack videos with Grateful Dub. Here’s a new one, with the group performing an acoustic version of Grateful Dead’s “They Love Each Other,” with Matthew “Dickey” James on bass.

Muses, a band which includes bassist Juna Serita, Rie on guitar, Marie Fukai on keyboard, Kanade Sato on drums and special guest Harumo Imai on sax, took on Steely Dan’s “Aja” for their latest video. They nailed it.

This may be some of the most aggressive thumping and plucking you’ve ever seen. Death metal band Xoth just released this video of bassist Ben Bennett playing through their song “Battlesphere,” and he absolutely beats the music out of his bass.

Playing For Change’s epic run of videos continues with a great one. Warren Haynes takes the lead on his tune, “Soulshine,” with Duda Lima on bass.

For many years, we’ve had a Christmas tradition here on No Treble, thanks to Steve Bailey and the Berklee Bass Department. The lineup is once again incredible too. Enjoy this 2023 Holiday Retrospective.
