Drummer Chris Georgenes sent us this video, and he got our attention before we even checked out the video. Check out his epic cover (with 13 bassists!) of Parliament’s “Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof off the Sucker)”.

I know I shouldn’t be surprised at how good the REO Brothers are with each new video. But every time, I’m blown away yet again. In this clip, the brothers take on songs from the Beatles’ “Abbey Road”.

Here’s a fantastic clip from the “Old Grey Whistle Test”, which was recorded around 1973 but wasn’t aired until 1978. Steely Dan performs “Reelin’ in the Years”, with the late, great Walter Becker on bass.

Pomplamoose is back with a new video. Joined by guest vocalist KT Tunstall, here’s their cover of U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.” I especially enjoyed what bassist Nick Campbell did with it.

I don’t know why it took me so long to discover Gev Delano and his videos, but I’m glad I did. After a bit of research, I found that he’s 10 years old. But that didn’t stop him from taking on a monster of a tune: Jaco’s “Havona”.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Zildjian LIVE! video series, but this is the one I was hoping would happen. In this clip, the legendary Dennis Chambers joins Ghost-Note (with MonoNeon on bass). This one is so great. Even the false start is great!

I really got into the self-titled Black Pumas album when it first came out. Then I bought the deluxe edition, which includes some great new material. Here’s the band (with Brendan Bond on bass) performing “I’m Ready”.

Scary Goldings is one of my favorite bands right now. Here’s the band, with Tim Lefebvre on bass, performing “Bondgirl”. Tim is laying it down on his De Armond Star Fire bass. (And I just want to say how much I dig the B3.)

Zander Zon is back with an incredible new bass arrangement, and a return to an instrument we haven’t seen in a while: his harp bass. In this clip, Zander performs his arrangement of “The Wayfaring Stranger” from “1917” on the 16 string beast.

Melissa Petitto emailed me over the weekend to share an exciting new video she’s released. Joined by guitarist Maurizio Solieri and drummer Flaviano Pennisi, the trio performs Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition”.

John Mayer Trio’s “Try” is one of my favorite records in my collection. Pino Palladino is an absolute monster throughout, so it was great to spot this video by EuBasss, who plays along to “Good Love Is On The Way” and shares the transcription.

I’m a huge fan of Indian Fusion, so I was excited to see this video Vivian Severn sent us. In this clip, Gabriel Severn takes on a new challenge with drummer Siddharth Nagarajan, guitarist Durwin D’souza, and percussionist Rhythm Nagi.
