I’ve been digging the Scary Goldings’ 2019 record “The Ego Trap” lately. Now they’ve announced their third record is available for pre-order. Here’s their video for “Clem Fandango”, which features Tim Lefebvre, who plays his De Armond Starfire.

With the tragic news of the passing of Eddie Van Halen, Charles Berthoud decided to record a tribute. He asked his fans for suggestions, and “Eruption” made the list. Charles pulled off this tall task with a fantastic bass version of the iconic tune.

MonoNeon has been impressing us for years on the bass. Now he’s doing it again with vocals – and bass. Here’s a new track by MonoNeon and Davy Nathan. MonoNeon he not only handles the bass and vocals, but also guitar, keyboards, and percussion.

Jesús Rico Pérez is back with another incredible video. In this clip, Jesús performs Michael Manring’s “Night is Darkness Enough,” which is a track on Manring’s 2020 album, “Small Moments”. As always, Jesús knocks it out of the park.

I’ve been going back through videos featuring Mohini Dey and found this incredible performance with Louiz Banks from 2015. This clip features Banks’ tune, “Timeless”, which he says “is inspired by the sun, the wind, and the flowing river.”

It has been four years ago since Vulfpeck released the epic tune, “Dean Town“. There have been many covers over the years, but this new one by Nathan Navarro is pretty unique. Check out Nathan covering the tune on his Mayones Cali 4 HS mini bass.

Scary Pockets was joined by vocalist Monica Martin for this cover of Radiohead’s “Karma Police.” And while the vocals are fantastic, we were pretty focused on the 1958 P Bass Jon Button is playing on the track.

Master bassist Joel Quarrington has been spending his extra time this year to nail down a piece he’s been studying for a long time. Luckily, he had the finished product recorded. Bach’s Preludio was written for violin and requires some serious agility on the bass.

For years, we’ve called these two the Dynamic Duo. And so it was a thrill to see bassist Evan Marien and drummer Dana Hawkins back with some new material and videos. Here they are (with Mario Camarena) performing “Bouncin’”.

NPR just released the Tiny Desk (from Home) Concert with The Flaming Lips, and the band brought social distancing to a whole new level. Michael Ivins doubled down with the bubble and a mask, but that didn’t stop him or the band from sounding great.
