My first experience seeing Áron Hodek play was at a Winter NAMM Show (he was 8 years old). I’ve followed him ever since. Here’s a great clip of Áron (now 9), grooving hard in this play-through of Dua Lipa’s “Levitating.”

The Blues Beatles are back with a new live video. Backed by Bruno Falcão on bass and backup vocals, here’s the band taking on “Oh Darling” in their style.

As if 2020 isn’t strange enough, three heads of state have joined forces to melt faces. Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin (who plays a lot like Nick Schendzielos), and Kim Jong-Un have teamed up as the Nuclear Power Trio. Today, we’re featuring the title track from “A Clear and Present Rager”.

The very first Snarky Puppy we shared (in 2011) was for their tune, “Skate U”. That video put the band on the map for us and for many readers. They’ve been remixing and remastering their earlier works this year, including this tune.

Whenever I spot a video with Mohini Dey, I stop what I’m doing, and I’m never disappointed. But this one might be my favorite so far. Dey grooves hard and takes a killer solo on “Nirvana,” with Siddharth Nagarajan and U.Rajesh.

Back in the 80s, I wore out my copy of Pete Townshend’s “White City: A Novel” record, thanks in large part to Pino Palladino. “Give Blood” recently came up on my shuffle, and I started looking for videos. That brought me to this excellent play-through by Gonzalo Godio.

I’ve been digging Khruangbin’s new album a lot lately. And then as luck would have it, this video hit my radar this morning. Laura Lee and the band performed at Pickathon in August 2019. Here’s their tune, “Rules”.

The REO Brothers impress us big time with each video they share. Here’s one where they cover The Beatles once again, with “Hey Bulldog” and “Lady Madonna.” Ralph Otic handles the bass throughout, and the lead vocals on “Lady Madonna.”

Our friend Pete O’Neill shared a new video with us, with a tune he wrote after first discovering the music of Michael Manring. “I wanted to try to write something pretty like ‘The Enormous Room’, even though I didn’t have a Hyperbass,” Pete shared.

Dirty Loops keeps bringing some excellent videos and tunes in their “Songs for Lovers” series. In this one, Henrik Linder and the band perform “Pink Power.”

It’s always great to see a video with Wes Stephenson hit the feed. In this clip, Wes performs with the Mark Lettieri Group for a live-streamed show at the Guitar Sanctuary in McKinney, TX on Aug. 22, 2020.

Back in July, Mike Portnoy, Stu Hamm, Paulie Z, Walter Ino got together virtually to record something in support of the David Z Foundation. They chose Rush’s “YYZ” as the tune, and Stu threw in some cool slap and tap lines throughout.
