Jason Raso shared this video of his second track from his “Session One” series. As a bonus, Michael Manring appears on the track. Jason lays down a sweet groove behind the band, which offers some beautiful, lyrical playing by Manring over top.

It’s been a while since we’ve posted a new Johan Hansén-Larson video, so I was pumped to see him post a new bass version of the jazz standard “Solar.” The bassist, who now rocks an incredible beard, puts his own spin on the song with an incredible fluidity and musicality that will leave your jaw on the floor.

Bassist Shob sent us a video of his new tune, “The Right Move,” and we’re digging the funky sound. The tune appears on Shob’s new album, Karma Obscur. We’re going to keep our eye on this bassist and band.

Miki Santamaria always amazes us with his stellar technique and musicianship. This video is no different. In this clip, Miki shows off some sweet slap bass, with plenty of groove. If you dig this, Miki has made the tab and backing tracks available, here.

Karl Clews wanted to pay tribute to Glen Campbell, who passed away on August 8th. He sent us this video of his solo bass arrangement of the 1968 country classic, “Wichita Lineman,” as performed by Campbell. Beautiful song.

The Metropole Orkest was joined by Cory Henry and Jacob Collier for a 2017 show. This clip showcases the combined group performing the Herbie Hancock tune, “I Thought It Was You,” which was arranged by Henry and Rob Taggart. Aram Kersbergen is the bass guitarist on the session, and he lays down one tasty groove.

A year ago, keyboardist Valeriy Stepanov, drummer Arkadiy Kornev, and bassist Federico Malaman got together to record some music. This video blew us away. Federico is showing his incredible chops (and musicianship) on this tune, which also offers up a sweet solo by him.

We’re huge fans of Evan Marien and have been for some time. Check out his latest single, entitled “Iceland,” and you’ll see why. The band includes Julian Pollack on synths, Isamu McGregor on piano, Devin Collins on drums, and of course, Evan on bass. I really dig the use of the Hot Hand. The track is now available on Bandcamp.

I’ve watched this video more times than I can count (and I’m still watching).
