I’ve always been amazed at the music of Avishai Cohen. So it was a real treat to see this live Paste Studio NYC performance. Avishai’s trio performs four songs in this set, and his solos are incredible.

Today is the one-year anniversary of Mac Miller’s popular Tiny Desk Concert. It was a great episode, with one of Miller’s frequent collaborators, Thundercat. Last week, Ty Dolla $ign recorded this tribute to Miller with Thundercat, Cory Henry, and others.

Zander Zon is back with a video he describes as the “2 GREATEST EVER classical pieces... but played on electric bass.” Those pieces include Bach’s “Cello Suite No. 1” and Pachelbel’s “Canon.” As always, he nails it.

Cory Wong is putting out a lot of great music lately, thanks to his new album, “Motivational Music for the Syncopated Soul.” In this clip, Sonny Thompson (aka Sonny T) tears it up – including some incredible solos – on the track “Lunchtime.”

Roy Vogt shared this video of the Galvez/Vera/Schmitt Project on Facebook with this comment: “Now, this guy is killing it! Gotta go practice now!” Christian Galvez is an absolute monster on this one.

No Treble reader and bassist Zeljko Zelle Glamocanin sent us this video of his tune, “Zellejdzijsko Oro.” Zeljko, joined by drummer Goran Milutinovic Caca, put down a bass track and then played some jaw-dropping music on top.

In 2011, Lee Ritenour and Mike Stern took the stage at Blue Note Tokyo. Backed by the Freeway Jam Band, which includes Melvin Lee Davis, Simon Phillips, and John Beasley, here’s their performance of “Smoke ‘n’ Mirrors.”

Tedeschi Trucks Band is currently on tour in support of their latest album, “Signs.” Blackberry Smoke is also on the bill for this tour, and the two groups got together at Red Rocks for this performance of “Don’t Do It.”
