Mabuta is a group that mixes jazz with elements of electronica and afro-pop for a fresh sound. Led by bassist Shane Cooper, the band recently hit the studio to make a video for a track from their debut album. Cooper’s tone is on point!

Mark Lettieri has a new album coming out on October 18th. He’s just released the first single from “Things of That Nature,” which features the fantastic bass work of Wes Stephenson on the tune, “Naptime.”

Metallica teamed up with the San Francisco Symphony recently to tackle the metal juggernaut’s hits. One of the most jaw-dropping performances included symphony bassist Scott Pingel on an EUB, with an open improv that turned into “Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth).”

Scott Devine of Scott’s Bass Lessons shared a video that serves not only as a great trip down memory lane but also an incredibly rich history of bass from the 1980s.

Leonid & Friends, the band formed by bassist Leonid Vorobyev, is back with another fantastic Chicago cover. “Call On Me” originally appeared on the 1974 album, “Chicago VII.” As always, the band nails it.

Yesterday, Kevin shared the news of the new Sons of Apollo album, which features a symphony performing songs from their debut album and a set of cover songs. The band just shared one of the cover performances: Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb.”

Queen’s classical influence really shines on the intro to this song in a duet between Freddie Mercury and bassist John Deacon. Originally recorded for “A Day at the Races,” this clip of “The Millionaire Waltz” comes from a live performance at the Summit in Houston, Texas in 1977.
