YYNOT is gearing up for their second album and just released the track, “Chemical Burn.” Tim Starace once again offers up some monster tone on a tune that goes from hard-hitting, to laid back, then grooves, and back again.

I can’t believe I missed this video until now. Released in November 2017, here’s “Partly Sunny,” which is described as “a humble documentary of the late great bassist Victor Bailey.” What a tribute to one of the greats in bass history.

Ever since the release “The Gleaners,” I’ve seen Larry Grenadier’s playing in a new light. The jazz bassist spent a year exploring the instrument and its possibilities before recording. I keep coming back to the opening track, “Oceanic,” which creates an indescribable atmosphere.
