Eric Avery Quits Janes Addiction

Eric AveryThough it may not come as a surprise, it is official: Eric Avery has once again quit Jane’s Addiction.

The bassist, who rejoined the band in 2008, announced it via his Twitter profile. “That’s it,” He writes. “With equal parts regret and relief, the janes addiction experiment is at an end.” This came just hours after Jane’s Addiction finished its last show for the Australian Soundwave Festival on March 1, 2010. The band began feuding again after their tour last spring with Nine Inch Nails when they started trying to record new music.

Frontman Perry Farrell recently told Spinner that the band would likely have a new member after Avery left. After all, the band had reunited without Avery in 1997 and 2001, with Flea, Martyn LeNoble, and Chris Chaney filling in. Furthermore, there has been a rumor of Duff McKagan’s involvement with the band, so only time will tell the band’s future.
