Greta Van Fleet: Highway Tune

I’ve seen this video being shared around Facebook lately. When I finally got the chance to watch it, I was completely knocked out.

Greta Van Fleet did a session for 101WKQX in The Sound Lounge and performed “Highway Tune,” which is the first single from the band’s debut EP Black Smoke Rising.

Surprisingly, I had no idea about this band, so I started doing some research. The band consists of three brothers (vocalist Josh Kiszka, guitarist Jake Kiszka, and bassist Sam Kiszka) along with drummer Danny Wagner, and formed in 2012.

Listeners will immediately hear the influence of Led Zeppelin in Greta Van Fleet’s music. Asked about that in an interview with Ravenna Miceli and Steve Pappas last year, vocalist Josh said: “We’ll take it.”
