Cort Unveils the GB-Fusion Bass Series
Cort has announced the GB-Fusion Bass series, which they say builds upon their GB-Modern series to be innovative yet affordably priced. The J-style bass comes in four- and five-string models and features a new pickup design.
“Cort’s brand-new Voiced Tone VTB-ST pickups are the perfect J-style single coil with clear and robust bass sounds and classic warmth,” a press release explains. “The GB-Fusion comes with a 9-volt battery-powered active preamp to dial in the sound. With push/pull volume, blend knob, and 3-band active electronics, players can access a wide array of tones.”
The GB-Fusion is built with an alder body sporting a spalted maple top. Cort fits the body with a see-through pickguard to let the figured wood show through. The GB-Fusion 4 comes in a Blue Burst finish and has an Indian rosewood fingerboard whereas the GB-Fusion 5 has an Antique Brown Burst finish and a Birdseye Maple fretboard. Each version has glow-in-the-dark side dots.
Other standard features include Hipshot Ultralite tuners and MetalCraft M-series bridges.
The Cort GB-Fusion 4 and GB-Fusion 5 are available with prices of $699 and $849, respectively.
