Doug Wimbish Showcases His Bass Power in Living Colour’s ‘Cult of Personality’ Performance on Kimmel

Living Colour performed their classic “Cult of Personality” on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week with Doug Wimbish driving the low end.

Playing his Spector bass through an Aguilar rig he delivered a tone that was deep articulate and powerful. His lines locked in with Will Calhoun’s drums while cutting through the wall of sound from Vernon Reid and Corey Glover.

The performance was a reminder of Wimbish’s unique role in Living Colour. His style blends funk rock and experimentation into a foundation that keeps the band’s most iconic song alive and urgent.

No Treble CEO Jody Miller is a Chicago-based bassist, guitarist, engineer, and producer best known for his bass gear demo videos and as the co-host of The Bass Nerds podcast.

Yes, good example of bass cutting thru a difficult mix. The EG tone was annoying IMO.
