Gojira’s “Silver Cord Sessions” Show Jean-Michel Labadie with Armed His Sandberg & Gallien Krueger.

Gojira is back in a big way with their Silver Cord Sessions, and bassist Jean-Michel Labadie once again reminds us why he’s one of the most commanding players in metal. His Sandberg bass cuts through the mix with a growl and authority that only he can deliver, driving every riff and rhythmic shift with effortless power. It looks like he’s playing through a Gallien-Krueger rig, adding even more punch and clarity to his already formidable tone.

You might remember Gojira from their incredible performance during the opening ceremonies of the Olympics earlier this year. That appearance put their energy on full display for a global audience, but this session brings it back to what we love most: raw musicianship and pure drive.

Labadie’s tone is tight, articulate, and full of character. Watching him in this setting shows just how much feel and precision he brings to the band’s sound. It’s another reminder that when it comes to heavy music, Gojira’s foundation is built on bass.
