Watch MonoNeon Stretch the Groove on “Better Days Are Coming” at Blue Note LA
MonoNeon recently shared a live clip of his tune “Better Days Are Coming,” captured at Blue Note in Los Angeles. The performance finds him deep in his element, stretching the groove with that unmistakable mix of funk, soul, and left of center phrasing. MonoNeon settles into a patient pocket and lets the composition unfold naturally. His rhythm is elastic and conversational, weaving between tight staccato figures and fluid melodic statements and always heavy on the Bass Whammy.
For this set, MonoNeon is playing his Signature Fender 5 string bass. The tone is clear and punchy with plenty of low end authority. His sound is powered through an EBS bass rig, delivering a focused attack and round fundamental that carries the room and cuts when when he wants it to.
Check out the full performance and let the groove speak for itself.
