Mane Custom Bass Launches KJ5 Series with Exotic Woods and Bartolini Electronics

Mane Custom Bass has announced the official release of its KJ5 series, which combines exotic tonewoods and professional-grade electronics, they share. The series is split into four versions, each of which comes in four, five, and six-string models.
The KJ5 Standard is the line’s entry point and features an alder body, maple neck, and maple fingerboard. It comes in Ocean Blue, Natural, Red, or Black finishes. The KJ5 Standard Deluxe upgrades to an ash body and optional roasted maple neck. It also includes glow-in-the-dark side inlays and a more advanced control section that offers single/serial/parallel switching.
Mane’s KJ5 Signature steps things up to include exotic woods in its construction. It’s also fitted with a triple-jazz pickup configuration.
“The [KJ5 Single Cut and 2.0 are the] pinnacle of the collection, featuring Mahogany or Ash bodies with Purpleheart or Monkey Pod tops,” the company writes. “The 2.0 version features a Birdseye fingerboard and a 2-pickup configuration for maximum clarity and punch.”
All of the KJ5 series basses have a 35-inch scale, 24 frets, and Bartolini electronics.
“After decades of building behind the scenes, bringing the KJ5 series to the world stage is a dream realized,” says the team at Mane Custom Bass. “These instruments aren’t just tools; they are the culmination of forty years of passion for the low end.”

The 1st bass I built in the 70’s I made with 35″ scale length. It was ok but somewhat unwieldy. Never made that scale again
