Legendary prog outfit Yes has been rocking – and evolving – for fifty-eight years, and they’re not stopping. They’ve just announced their 24th studio album, Aurora, which will be released on June 12th via InsideOutMusic.

The band’s current lineup includes Steve Howe, Geoff Downes, Jon Davison, Jay Schellen, and bassist Billy Sherwood. Howe, who is the longest-serving member, says the new songs reflect the band’s continued growth.

“Making this record was joyful, a chance to play, explore and give everything to the music,” he said in a press release. “It’s always been about collaboration, somebody can write a song, but until everybody puts their contribution in it isn’t really a Yes song. We’re not trying to echo the past; we’re carrying the spirit of Yes forward and turning it into something new.”

The title track, “Aurora,” has been released as the album’s first single to give fans a preview of what’s to come. Yes released it with an animated music video by Matt Hutchings.

The song begins with a cinematic piano and orchestra before the band kicks in. Sherwood brings the groove to life with a melodic approach, utilizing the upper middle register and a pick for a throaty, biting tone.

Aurora is open to pre-orders on CD and vinyl through their webstore as well as digital platforms including Apple Music and Amazon Music.
