Watch Norm Stockton Reimagine Coldplay’s “Yellow” for Solo Bass

Norm Stockton is back with a beautiful solo bass take on Coldplay’s “Yellow.”

Stockton keeps things relaxed and spacious, letting the melody breathe while filling out the harmony on his signature MTD 5 string. He is running through a Gallien Krueger combo amp for a clean, warm sound that fits the chilled out arrangement perfectly.

Stockton has given us plenty of great music over the years, including Grooves & Sushi, his third solo album and companion video series. The project brought together an impressive cast of musicians for live performances recorded in his living room, with plenty of conversation and, of course, sushi mixed in.

For this one, though, it is just Norm, a bass, and a great tune.
