The 2nd Annual Bass Coalition Summer Workshop

Bass Coalition Summer WorkshopThe Bass Coalition will be holding its second annual Summer Workshop at Shenandoah University-Conservatory in Winchester, Virginia on July 9th and 10th, 2011. Faculty will include Oberlin bass professor Peter Dominguez, renowned bass educator Inez Wyrick, and Shenandoah Professor and No Treble columnist Dr. Donovan Stokes.

The two-day event includes clinics covering classical, jazz and alternative styles, including use of effects on upright bass.

There will be several special classes on various bass subjects. Coalition member Eric Hanson will be giving a presentation on the violone, Brenton Colbert will explaining the role of the bass in music therapy, and Brittany Frompovich will be returning to give another lecture on looping.

Attendees also get the opportunity to work on chamber music in small bass chamber ensembles, as well as a full bass orchestra.
