Billy Gould Announces Album with Fear and the Nervous System
Faith No More bassist Billy Gould has teamed up with Korn’s James “Munky” Shaffer to form the supergroup side project Fear and the Nervous System. The band, which also includes Repeater vocalist Steve Krolikowski, Bad Religion drummer Brooks Wackerman, guitarist Leopold Ross and keyboardist Zach Baird, has a sound blend of rock and metal styles that they describe as “harkening back to the days when music was fearless.”
Though formed in 2008, FATNS is finally expected to release an album this year. Gould tweeted the news that the group has their first single, “Choking Victim,” is out for free download.
“Fear and the Nervous System, with me on bass, is giving a free downloadable track here: fatns.com. Out,” he wrote.
Besides reuniting with Faith No More last year, Gould has kept busy on his own solo work, including his collaboration with sound artist Jared Blum titled Talking Book. The album is a collection of soundscapes with “lush drones” and “deep bass pulses” tying it all together.
