The Wood Brothers: When I Was Young

Chris Wood has a way of playing funky lines on the upright bass. Case in point: this performance of “When I Was Young” from Music City Roots Live From The Factory in 2016.

The bassist kicks the song off with a spirited, syncopated line before his brother Oliver and percussionist Jano Rix jump in on the action. Be sure to check out his solo at the 2:16 mark, too.

In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.
