The Doobie Brothers Announce 50th Anniversary Tour
The Doobie Brothers are setting out for a tour in 2020 to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Spanning 53 cities in North America, the tour will welcome five-time Grammy winner Michael McDonald back into the fold, which will mark the first time the singer has toured with them since 1996.
“Next year our tour will include Tom [Johnston], John [McFee] and myself, along with Michael McDonald,” Patrick Simmons said. “The fans will have a chance to hear all our hits, as well as deep cuts and new material. I know these will be very special performances.”
The group will continue to be anchored by John Cowan, who has been in their touring band in 2010. Hear him lay down the low end on a spirited version of “Rockin’ Down the Highway” from Live at the Beacon Theatre:
