Orlando le Fleming & Romantic Funk with Chris Martin: What’s New?
Bassist Orlando le Fleming sent us his latest video, which is an amazing rendition of the jazz standard “What’s New?” performed with his group Romantic Funk. Le Fleming begins with a chord-melody on the bass guitar before each instrument fills in the modern arrangement.
The clip builds and builds before special guest and Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin jumps in to sing the song’s opening line and main theme.
“Chris is an old friend who was very happy to do this and step out of his usual bag for a second,” le Fleming shares. “It was fun putting together – recorded in Crowborough Uk, Adelaide, Denton Tx, London, and NY.”
