Bass of the Week: Maurizio Über Basses Mighty Magma

This week we’re checking out the new Mighty Magma from Maurizio Über Basses, which is a medium-scale headless five-string. Built with a padauk body and thick pistachio top, the bass gets a big tone from a pair of Nordstrand BigMan pickups.

“Two 3-way switch toggles to select each coil for a total of 13 permutations – all available with this p-up layout,” müb writes. “Plus a 3 band Nordstrand preamp, a/p with mid switch selector and passive tone. The 32″ scale adds a big low end to the MüB signature snap. Last but not the least, a wood combo to die for in a 3.7kg/8lbs package.”
