Jack Bruce: “Cream is over”
In an interview with BBC 6Music, Jack Bruce announced that another Cream reunion is out of the question.
“There’s a new story now – Cream is over,” he stated.
Cream, who originally broke up in 1968, last reunited in 2005 for seven shows, split between London’s Royal Albert Hall and New York’s Madison Square Garden. Tensions rose again between Bruce and drummer Ginger Baker over artistic differences, but the bassist claimed it was no big deal.
“There was one argument where I misremembered the phrasing of one of the songs. Ginger said ‘You’ve got that wrong,’ and I said ‘No I haven’t,’ ” Jack said. “I thought about it and realized he was right and I apologized, so everything was all right.”
Bruce recently released his authorized biography, Jack Bruce: Composing Himself, but alludes to a new project, which is still under wraps. “I’m doing something very exciting – so much so I can’t even talk about it. It’s the most exciting project I’ve ever been involved in.”
