Nikolai Fraiture Says The Strokes Working On New Material
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, The Strokes bassist Nikolai Fraiture revealed the the band is back to working on a new album, just two months after releasing Angles.
The band’s last effort came after a nearly five year hiatus, during which time each member worked on other projects. This newest creativity has the same spark as came with the making of Angles.
“It’s been feeling really good,” the bassist said. “We’re kind of doing the same thing as the last record – we’re bringing in parts and ideas and kind of just working on those and trying to make sense of them, coming from five different people. We’re trying not to lose momentum by taking time off and then having to reboot the whole system. Hopefully, we’ll keep that up.”
The group hopes to have the next record out as soon as possible, with fall tour dates on the way, but until then fans can enjoy their entire Bonnaroo performance taken from the festival’s webcast.
