Bob Daisley Debuts Black Beauty Signature Series Bass

Bob Daisley Black Beauty Series Signature Bass - body

Bass legend Bob Daisley has teamed up with Mad Music Management to create his new Black Beauty Signature Bass, designed by the bassist himself and built in Italy by the luthiers at Utopia Custom Shop.

Bob Daisley Black Beauty Series Signature Bass - slideDaisley went all out with the concept, which includes two interchangeable pickup drawers that essentially make it two basses in one.

The first pickup is active with individually sliding pickup poles. Each string’s pole can be loosened, moved, and tightened back down to get customized tone for each string. The second drawer includes a pair of passive pickups with Master Volume, Neck Pickup Volume, Bridge Pickup Volume, and Master Tone controls. The drawers simply slide into the side of the bass and are locked in and held by magnets.

The bass gets its moniker from its black-only finish, which is accented with an ebony fingerboard. The body is a light Swamp ash while the neck is hard rock maple. Hardware on the bass includes a Schaller 3D Roller Bridge, Schaller BMLB Light Tuners and a graphite nut.

The Bob Daisley Black Beauty Signature Bass has a list price of €6,000 (Approx. $7,493 USD) and will be available 90 days after ordering.

  1. Fascinating concept. Ridiculous price.

  2. I Like the idea and all, but it’s way too much $$$.

  3. Genius;, Bob Daisley is a very underrated Bass Player..

  4. Do you have the ability to make them left-handed?

  5. I could probably afford enough wood to build 5 of those at that price. None of them functional because I don’t know how to build, but hey that’s still an absurd amount.

  6. Super Uber design! Pricey!
